Who can apply?

The DTV Visa is available to students who enroll in our Professional Thai cooking course.
It is designed for individuals looking for long-term stays while participating in cultural and educational programs.

Documents needed for DTV Visa:

Original passport, biodata page of Passport, photograph taken within the last six months
Completed visa application form
Proof of permanent residence in the country where the application is submitted
Bank statement showing a balance of at least 500,000 Thai Baht for the past 3 months
Letter of acceptance from the Siam Culinary Academy : proof of participation in Thai cooking classes
Certificate of criminal record clearance from the country of nationality or the country where the application is submitted
Visa fee of 10,000 Baht in your local currency.
Other documents maybe be required by your embassy.

Can I take the course without a DTV Visa?

Yes! You don’t need a DTV Visa to enroll in our Professional Thai Cooking Course. Many students join us with a a Tourist Visa (60 days, extendable to 90 days) or under the Visa Exemption Scheme (60 days for most nationalities, enter Thailand without visa). If you’re unsure which visa is best for you, check our visa page or contact us, and we’ll help guide you through your options.

How is the DTV different from other options (Tourist Visa, Visa Exemption)?

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is designed for long-term stays and offers more flexibility than a standard Tourist Visa or Visa Exemption, which allow only 30 to 60 days.

How long can I stay in Thailand with the DTV?

DTV is a multiple-entry visa valid for five years, allowing multiple entries within this period. Each entry allows a stay of up to 180 days at a time.

How long does the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) application take?

Processing times vary but typically take a few weeks. We recommend applying well in advance.

Which course qualifies for the DTV visa?

The DTV visa is only available to students enrolling for our full five weeks Professional Thai Cooking Course. Shorter course options do not qualify.

Can I apply if I am a beginner in Thai cooking?

Yes! Our Professional Thai Cooking Course is designed for both beginners and experienced chefs. No prior cooking experience is required, and our expert chef will guide you through every step.

What is the visa fee for the DTV?

The visa fee is 10,000 baht and paid directly to the embassy you apply to.

Can I leave Thailand and re-enter with the same visa?

Yes, the DTV is a multiple-entry visa, meaning you can leave Thailand and return without needing to apply for a new visa. Each time you enter, you can stay up to 180 days (subject to visa conditions).

Do I need to book my Thai cooking course before applying for the visa?

Yes, you must be enrolled in our Professional Thai Cooking Course before applying for the DTV visa. Siam Culinary Academy will provide an enrollment confirmation letter, which you need to submit with your visa application.

Can I apply for the DTV while already in Thailand?

No, the DTV must be obtained before entering Thailand. You need to apply through a Thai embassy or consulate outside Thailand. If you are already in Thailand, feel free to contact us for best advice.

Can I stay in Thailand after my course is finished with my DTV Visa?

Yes. You can remain in Thailand even after completing your course, as long as your visa is still valid.
